In whacky Sacramento crime news: one 25-year-old suspected deadbeat has been arrested after breaking into a woman's home, collecting a stack of valuables, eating some of her Chinese food and then passing out on her couch. Teryl Parnell more or less made the arrest herself when she roused the man she found sleeping in her home and offered to bring him some coffee. Instead of the sobering brew, however, she came back with a machete.
"You need to sit right here. You need to sit right here and you're going to wait for the cops, you're going to jail," Parnell recalled telling couch sleeper Christopher Weaver during the incident a couple weeks ago. "I was like, 'No son, you're staying, you're staying right there.' And I was like, 'And don't try to get up or nothing because I've been nice to you up until this point,' " Parnell told ABC7. Deputies later arrived to haul Weaver away.
