You know who has a lot of catching up to do? The Golden Gate Bridge. If there were a thought bubble hovering above the Golden Gate Bridge, it would be that of a cartoon saw cutting a cartoon log. It's that boring. Sure, she's considered one of the Wonders of the Modern World, but, in the timeless words of Janet Jackson, what have you done for us lately?

Meanwhile, the Bay Bridge, clean on the other side of the city, gets a sleek new eastern span -- which, as you can see here, nears closer to completion. Combine that with an impending LED light art installation and you've got yourself the bridge across the bay.

The new span should be completed later this year.
