A group of pedestrians walking on Christmas Tree Point Road near Twin Peaks Vista Point last night were struck by a car and knocked down a hillside. The car then sped off. One of three people who had to be rescued from the hillside around 9 p.m. Thursday, 56-year-old Yuee Yao, later died.
A fourth pedestrian managed to jump out of the way and was uninjured.
The vehicle that struck them was found nearby by authorities a short while later. The driver, a 23-year-old San Francisco woman, was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run driving and felony drunken driving, as the Chron reports. Two men in the car, ages 22 and 25, were taken in for public drunkenness, and a fourth passenger, a 17-year-old female, was taken to SF General with minor injuries.
The name of the female driver has not been released.
