Election night will have us all on the edge of our martini glasses—and this election is razor-thin close in some cases, so please vote for God's sake—so cool off and watch (or cringe at) tomorrow's night's results with other likeminded souls at one of these parties in San Francisco. Behold:
Prop 37 Election Night Party: Anti-science propaganda from the left or a helpful way to let consumers know about genetically modified foods? You decide. After you do, head to this Yes On 37 party at—where else?—CELLspace in the Mission. Election results will be live streamed throughout the evening and California Right to Know spokespeople will be available to comment. Hippie-wonk level: 8
Yoshii's Election Results: Featuring Jacques Ibula, Tad Worku, Foxtails Brigade and more. 100% of ticket proceeds will go to the American Red Cross to help aid those affected by Hurricane Sandy. Hippie-wonk level: 6
Election at Rye with Tango & Stache: Geary Street bar Rye joins efforts with Inforum (a division of the Commonwealth Club) to bring to bring you a perfectly gastronomical way to watch the election results. They've got projection screens, special cocktails, and Negroni-smoked pork butt tacos from Tango & Stache. Starts at 5:30 p.m. Hippie-wonk level: 3
Bubble Lounge: Live TV results, free appetizers, drink specials. Not cheap. Fun! But not at all cheap. Over 300 champagnes and sparkling wines! Hippie-wonk level: 1
Brick & Mortar's Free Election Night Party: DJ Brown Amy (of Hard French) and Primo will spin (excellent) tunes on the dance floor while results come in. So, you know, come in and have fun. It's free. Hippie-wonk level: 6
Election Night Gathering 2012 at the Independent: Hungry for Obama hosts a party in Western Addition that's free! Native band Brad Wolfe and the Moon provide music. This party is for everyone, but mainly for those who support Barack Obama. But, really, anyone can come. So come. Hippie-wonk level: 7
Free Cocktails at Blackbird: Gay bar Blackbird will host a free cocktail tasting in the Castro. St. George Spirits will serve some free cocktails between 6pm - 8pm on Super Tuesday with specialty tastings of two spirits side by side. They won't be airing live results, but it's a good first place to go before catching the results. Hippie-wonk level: 0
League of Pissed Off Voters Election Night Party: After reading their guide, head to El Rio for the League of Pissed Off Voters party. The scene will be political, but chatty, festive, and full of insiders. Hippie-wonk level: 8.9
Young Republicans Election Day Party at Alfred’s Steakhouse: If results go the way some suspect they might (i.e., to the right), this could very well be the party of the night. In a pact with the San Francisco Republican party, the SFYR will watch the results of the Presidential and local elections together. Cost is $25 which includes a drink ticket at the door, but space is limited, so be sure to RSVP now. (Side note: We love that this is being held at a steakhouse. SF Republicans are sometimes too clever.) Hippie-wonk level: -666
SF Green Party "Victory" Party: Do you not give a shit about gays or ladies, but instead prefer stomping your feet and pouting? Then you might be voting Green this year. If so, head over to the Mission to watch election returns via TV and the internet. Be sure to wear your Green Party pins or other campaign items so you can find your own kind. Hippie-wonk level: ∞
Remember, wearing your red "I Voted" sticker can results in one or more free drinks at bars and venues throughout San Francisco tomorrow night!
