Did you know that San Francisco’s sewer system collects everything flushed down the toilet, washed down the drain and all the rainwater that falls on the city? Now, would you like to tour those facilities on your bike? You're in luck. This Saturday, the SF Public Utilities Commission will pedal through the city's streets (not the actual sewers, ew) to explore "the wonderful world of wastewater." You'll get to visit San Francisco's treatment plants, pump stations, storm drains, outfalls, and "an innovative green infrastructure installation."
You will also learn about the interesting and bustling city beneath the city. It all starts on October 13 from 10:30-2 p.m. at the Southeast Wastewater Treatment Plant (750 Phelps Street (at Evans). RSVP to [email protected] or visit facebook.com/sfwater for more details.
