Too many articles about Emmy winners in mainstream press feature pics of women in dresses on red carpet, but not men. #MissRep

Our sentiments exactly! But in all seriousness, California's First Lady in waiting, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, draws attention to the fact that women and their (boring) dresses are usually the highlight of award season, not the women and men whose popularity or talent nabs them their shiny trophies. Her point, which she clarifies in a later tweet, is this: "When journos highlight female Emmy winner's fashion over their talent, it further objectifies and devalues them as women."
