This movie looks amazing, you guys. We are actually in the middle of this very acclaimed, rather difficult book, Cloud Atlas, published in 2004 by David Mitchell, and therefore we can barely stand to watch too much of this trailer for the movie, which gets released October 26. The Wachowskis (Andy and recently transitioned sister Lana) along with co-director Tom Tykwer, appear to have done some great work with this complex material which spans several centuries, and the trailer alone is quite moving.
It stars Halle Barry, Tom Hanks, Hugo Weaving, Hugh Grant, Jim Sturgess, Susan Sarandon, and Keith David. Oh, and there is a S.F. connection which comes up in just the first chapter, in which a man takes a journey from the South Pacific to San Francisco in the 1880s, and another section features a town seemingly based on San Francisco called Buenas Yerbas.
