Barah's Market, known around the Tenderloin as a good place to grab an Arizona Iced Tea and some smack, reached a settlement with the city yesterday. According to Bay City News, the owner has agreed to pay a $30,000 fine to the city over the next three and a half years and will close between the late night hours of midnight and 7 a.m.

In addition to the fine and limited hours, Barah's will need to hire a security guard who will be posted outside the store between 8 p.m. and midnight. When last we checked in at the corner of Turk and Leavenworth, however, the deli was allegedly still slinging drugs to the loitering masses in broad daylight despite widespread documentation of its crack and heroin problem in the local media. An attorney representing the deli explained that his clients were happy to have the issue resolved, but they also felt "the city and county was very hard on them."
