The band Poor Moon, which comprises two band members from Fleet Foxes and local musician brothers Ian and Peter Murray of The Christmas Cards, is performing Friday, June 1 at Brick & Mortar Music Hall (1710 Mission Street). They sound quite a bit like Fleet Foxes, naturally, and you can hear their full EP Illusion streaming on YouTube here.
The EP was recorded in various bedrooms, practice spaces, and residences while Christian Wargo and Casey Wescott had time off from touring with the Foxes, and the band name comes from Wargo's favorite Canned Heat song.
Get tickets for Friday while you can (they're only $10), and note the show starts at 9 p.m.
