As we noted, SFPD moved in Justin Herman Plaza to set up barricades around the Occupy Camp yesterday evening. SFPD spokescop Sgt. Mike Andraychak told the press the move was intended to "define the perimeter of the camp." Protesters, on the other hand, felt herded by the fencing and reminded SFPD, "we're not cattle, we're humans" before dragging the barricades in to Market Street to disrupt traffic around 7 p.m. last night.

During the dust-up in front of the Federal Building at 101 Market Street, one protester was arrested for aiming a laser at SFPD officers. Unlike cats, riot cops don't take kindly to laser-play and treated the person as hostile, believing he was aiming a weapon at them. He was found to be in possession of a knife. When cops eventually removed the barricades around 8 p.m. last night, another man was arrested for trying to punch an officer.

Meanwhile, the Chronicle reports that one camper set his tent on fire yesterday, "because he was angry at his neighbors for making too much noise." Other campers quickly put the fire out, but Deputy Police Chief Kevin Cashman didn't approve of last night's display, telling the Chronicle that last night's hour-long scuffle, "did give [police] a little preview of what to expect if we did ever go into the camp. Police were met with violent resistance."
