Yes, you read that correctly. Halloween is barely over, and the Christmas frenzy has begun. In just five days, you can skate in a winter wonderland in the middle of Union Square when the Holiday Ice Rink opens for the season.

SFist was just in Union Square on Wednesday and saw they're currently installing the rink. It was a rather balmy day, which made it hard to imagine such a thing as ice-skating. Then, yesterday caught us under-layered, and we got a taste of our near future.
