We briefly mentioned the impending opening of the Süppenkuche's plein air sister restaurant Biergarten last week, and today Inside Scoop brings us some glorious news for fans of beer, Bavarian food and picnic tables. According to the Scoop, owner Aaron Hulme says the joint will open this afternoon at 3 p.m. to serve up suds, sausage and sauerkraut for your midweek happy hour enjoyment.

On tap for the Hayes Valley Proxy Project's first alcohol-serving launch are a range of German-style beers (including what's left of their Hofbrau Oktoberfest supply) and a menu of beer-friendly items like brats, pretzel sandwiches and various forms of mayonnaise-laden salads. Weather permitting, they'll be open until 8 or 9 p.m. this evening and will be open every day of the week except Mondays moving forward.

If you do get a chance to drop by this afternoon, which should be a nice crisp fall one, feel free to let us know how it stacks up against Zeitgeist's beergarden juggernaut.
