Those two earthquakes hit within 5 minutes of each other on either side of the city: the first was a 3.5 on the Hayward fault in the East Bay at 8:08 p.m. Sunday evening, followed shortly after by a 2.3 magnitude along the San Andreas fault three miles West of Ocean Beach.
