As Bay City News reports, Green Day lead singer, Billie Joe Armstrong, announced via Twitter on Thursday that he had been kicked off a Burbank-bound Southwest Airlines flight at Oakland Airport because his pants were saggy:
Just got kicked off a southwest flight because my pants sagged too low! What the fuck? No joke!
Unlike in the case of Deshon Marman, who was kicked off a U.S. Airways flight back in June, was arrested, and has yet to receive an apology, Armstrong received a swiftly tweeted reply from Southwest:
Very sorry for your experience tonight, someone from our Customer Relations Team will reach out to you to get more details.
Also unlike Marman, Armstrong wasn't arrested over the incident. Marman's family and friends maintain that his arrest was racially motivated and is filing a lawsuit. BCN reports that the NAACP has asked for an apology from U.S. Airways and has tried repeatedly to meet with airline officials to no avail.
