The Los Gatos Town Council last night voted 3-2 to approve a new 550,000-square-foot office campus for Netflix, despite some concerns from residents about obstructing views and removal of mature trees. The town's mayor insists that "architecture is key" in getting the public to accept the new, proposed, 85-foot-tall structures, which require an exception to the town planning code. The existing Netflix campus stands at 55 feet. The company expressed a desire to stay in Los Gatos despite plans to move their DVD division to San Jose.
