It looks like the sobriety checkpoint the San Francisco Police Department set up in the Marina over the four-day weekend was a successful one. Thirty DUI arrests were made throughout the city, and there were no fatalities.

The checkpoint was part of the city’s multi-jurisdictional "Avoid the 8" campaign, which is funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

There will also be an 18-day Summer Mobilization from August 19 through September 5.
