In the latest edition of the Examiner's Man vs. Muni series, reporter Will Reisman again challenges one of Muni's notoriously slow transit lines to a friendly contest. This time it's the $6 fares and 510 horsepower engines of the Powell-Mason cable car line versus Reisman's sensible shoes and a strong set of lungs. No one gets punched in the face, but traffic around Union Square manages to hold back both the Cable Car and the pedestrian who seems to be a little more timid than the rest of us jaywalk-happy San Franciscans. Spoiler Alert: Muni loses this round, but Reisman admits to feeling, "euphoric highs Lance Armstrong must have felt during the Tour de France." So, now we're going to have to get the SFMTA to start a doping investigation.
