SoMa / Carjacking: A man in his 20s jumped into a car at 1st and Howard at around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday. He told the 26-year-old male driver and another male passenger that he had a gun. They then drove around until the thief brandished his weapon and demanded money. They then were able to stop the car, jump out, and flag down police, who arrested the man. No one was injured. Van Ness / Mugging: A 31-year-old man was robbed of his cash at knife-point yesterday by three teenagers at the corner of Van Ness and Eddy. [Examiner]
San Mateo / Murder: A body found dead of a stab wound in a storage facility in San Mateo on Tuesday has been identified as 33-year-old Justin Lockwood of Pacifica. Berkeley / Arson: Two small fires that broke out almost simultaneously within blocks of each other are being investigated as possible arson attempts. The fires were set outside of homes on Cragmont Ave. in the Berkeley hills, and both were contained quickly. Neither damaged the homes, but the first fire caused significant damages to a vehicle and a garage. [CBS]
