SF Weekly Publisher (and an all-around swell chap) Josh Fromson will leave the city's noted alt-weekly to take over at The NY Village Voice. Both SF Weekly and The Village Voice are owned by the same parent company, Village Voice Media.
Fromson replaces Voice's Michael Cohen, who announced today he was leaving after more than 25 years in "alternative media." Fromson, according to a press release, "will resign his job with the Weekly immediately to move to New York City." During his five-year stint with SF Weekly, Fromson had to deal with, among other things, a lawsuit filed by the San Francisco Bay Guardian over predatory pricing.
Advertising Director Gil Padia will take over as Publisher.
