Late Saturday night three employees of the Mucky Duck "Nightclub" (the AP's term) in Monterey were injured by shots fired after an unruly customer pulled a gun in a 3-on-3 altercation between patrons and employees. According to AP reports on the Examiner, the three employees were rushed to Bay Area hospitals where they were treated for non-life-threatening wounds. No arrests were made, but Monterey PD says this incident is the first shooting in town since a gang-related shooting left one man injured 8 months ago.
Again: to imply that nightclubs are to blame for violence and shootings is a bit ridiculous (especially since the Mucky Duck sounds more like a beach town patio bar), but you know - some people were shot and they were at a nightclub. So there's that. According to Yelpers, the Mucky Duck has a history of bizarre violence: other patrons reported being "attacked by boners".
