Mid-Market / Stabbing: The city's second homicide victim of 2011 (the first was 20-year-old Larry Lacy, shot Saturday in the 'Loin) was stabbed to death by his roommate at a residence on Market Street between 7th and 8th Streets. The roommate/suspect, a man in his 40s, confessed to the crime and was taken into custody. Tenderloin / Shooting: A man was shot last night at the corner of Larkin and O'Farrell and was rushed to S.F. General suffering life-threatening injuries. The incident took place around 9:15 p.m. and police are still looking for the suspect. [Bay City News/Appeal] Update: The victim, Charles Harrison, has died.

In related news, a church in Oakland is memorializing that city's 94 homicides in 2010 (though the Chron puts that number at 90). S.F. closed out 2010 with a total of 50 homicides, up from 45 in 2009.
