After three years of meetings and discussion the Planning Commission has unanimously decided to move forward on construction of a Whole Foods location on Market Street at Dolores. Per the Examiner, the corner lot will be transformed into an 8-story building with 82 apartments and a slick storefront along Market where Greenpeace volunteers can ambush unsuspecting shoppers.
Upper Market Whole Foods superfans might remember various renderings floating around, but the latest from May of this year revealed there will be plenty of private outdoor space so residents can lounge outdoors with out having to look at people recycling across the street. The awkwardly-shaped triangular space is also the former home of a Ford dealership, so it just makes sense that the approved proposal includes 16 bike racks.
