Leah Garchik gets all the good news. Take, for example, her most recent scoop on Giants hero Brian Wilson. The bearer of the beard, it seems, was at Lucca Delicatessen (2120 Chestnut) on Sunday afternoon, one of Wilson's favorite spots. The place was so packed with well-wishers wanting to congratulate Wilson that he had difficulty getting inside. Once inside the joint, and after quickly grabbing his "usual," the Giants superstar "handed [owner Linda Fioretti] a couple of hundred bucks and told her it was to pay for a sandwich for everyone - 25 or 30 folks - waiting."

Rad.

Another Wilson spotting: One SFGate commenter, who goes by the moniker historyguy, had this to report:

And he was spotted last Friday night having dinner at Boulevard, at the foot of Mission Street. A gang of young Giant fans passed by, looked in the window and saw their hero eating his dinner and began to wave, hoot, give various digital expressions of joy and approval until they finally drifted away. Wilson treated it like he treats opposing batters---with aplomb and a stoic acceptance that such is the byproduct of fame.

Also rad.
