With the unfortunate homicide of 32-year-old Oliver Carter (whom we identified as 35 years old yesterday), 2010 has officially tied last year with exactly 48 murders. It's sort of uncanny to us, really, how a murder rate could be so even, two years in row. There are, of course, a couple more weeks left in the year, but SFist would like to please put out a call for everyone to stop killing each other, because c'mon, it's almost Christmas.
