You know that not-so crazy plastic bag ban spearheaded by San Francisco Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi? Well, openly Republican (heh) Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger now also supports the eco-intelligent ban. So, you know, kudos to you, Mirkarimi.

The bill, which collapsed in the Senate this year, faces strong opposition from special interest groups like the Virginia-based American Chemistry Council. And, with an antiseptic name like that, you can be sure that they don't necessarily have the public's best interest at heart.
