Bay City News/SF Appeal reports that fans have been gearing up for the big ticker-tape parade since last night, as some die-hards arrived at Civic Center as early as 10:30 p.m., planning to camp out.

Muni's added extra Metro trains this morning to accommodate the crowds, BART's running longer trains, and Golden Gate Ferry has added two extra morning departures. We suspect heading to the parade on foot might be your best bet though. [Update: According to BCN/SFA, Caltrain is currently experiencing big delays due to parade commuter traffic. Spokeswoman Christine Dunn told SF Appeal at about 8:30 a.m.: "There are probably 1,000 people waiting on the platform."]

The parade, which begins at 11 a.m. on Montgomery Street at Washington Street, will head down Market Street, turn onto McAllister Street, and end up in Civic Center Plaza for the big key-to-the-city ceremony.

Don't forget to wear your Official Ed Hardy-esque, Giants 2010 World Series Parade Shirt to the festivities!
