Here we go, folks. The Giants take on the Phillies today in Game 3 of the National League Championship Series. The first pitch makes its way across the plate at around 1:20(ish). You can watch the game on KTVU (on channel 2), download At Bat on your precious smartphone, or simply take the day off work and find a bar sowing the game.

Now, this series (not to mention this team) has all sort of locals coming out as fans. And that's fine. As SF Appeal's Eve Batey points out, "The Chron would call those folks 'fair weather foam fingers' but where I come from, we embrace all fans, regardless of vintage." Word.

McCovey Chronicles notes: "The Giants are heading into what’s essentially a best-of-five series in which they have homefield advantage. They still have a good team. They need to win three games out of their next five this October. They need to win seven out of their next twelve games. 7-5. No big deal."

Nervous? No. Painfully excited? Yes. Getting any work done today? We'll try.
