After Attorneys General in 17 states nutted over Craigslist's adult services section -- where one could hire sex workers to quench a bevy of desires -- the San Francisco company finally shut it down on all their U.S. sites. Alas.
As TrechCrunch correctly points out, "The site has been embattled as old press and state attorneys general use any excuse to blame sex crimes on the site." Everything from, the "Craigslist killer" story to South Carolina Attorney General Henry McMaster's disturbing, "failed crusade" helped bring down the popular section.
The fine folks at Craigslist, however, aren't taking the forced shut down lightly; in fact, there's now a black-and-white "CENSORED" bar where adult services used to be.
