Contest Closed. Congratulations, M.W.! Here's another sweet giveaway to the Asian Art Museum's Matcha series. Email [email protected] with Matcha as the heading, and include your full name in the email for a pair of tickets to Thursday's event. The fifth entrant wins!
Thursday's installment of Matcha, Drunken Dish, celebrates the culinary delights of Shanghai, China, known for its assertive flavors and fresh ingredients, featuring a talk and cooking demonstration by Chef Nei Chia Ji of the local restaurant Jai Yun and Martin Yan of Yan Can Cook. The chefs will prepare dishes using the Shanghai specialty of marinating food in Chinese wine: vegetarian goose with bean curd and rice wine, pickled cucumber in Huang Chiew wine, and the famous “drunken chicken” with Shaoxing wine.
There will be small refreshing bites, music by DJ Friendly Traveler, a cash bar, and opportunities to make architectural art and tour the Shanghai exhibition before it ends on September 5, plus more.
