Another day, another proposed ban in San Francisco. This week the city mulls over banning bottled water at all any and all events held on city property. The city's environmental commission will meet to discuss it today.
How will we be able be quench our thirst at city events, you ask? SF Weekly says, "In lieu of selling bottled water, events such as concerts or festivals could sell or give away reusable containers of water and then provide cisterns or water fountains with which to fill them."
Our city's tap water, we should point out, is some of the tastiest in the country. Then again, a Fuji Water bottle sure looks pretty. It's a tricky decision. When asked for comment, our freshman-year dorm room wall explains, "First they came for the Sprite, and we did not speak out because we drank Diet Coke. Then they came for the kittens..."
