We've reported earlier on the fate of the apotheosis of all sandwich places, Ike's Place, which is facing eviction following on the lengthy complaining of some upstairs neighbors. The neighbors are upset about the noise and smells coming from the popular sandwich shop, and have forced the landlord to evict Ike's and possibly next door neighbor Daimaru Sushi as well, which holds the primary lease on the space that was sublet to Ike's.

Now, says owner Ike Shehadeh, some "underhanded stuff" has been going on and a hearing has been set for 9:30 a.m. tomorrow that could decide the fate of the shop, without Ike being able to mount a defense. Ike has said previously that he did not have enough cash to reopen elsewhere in SF immediately, because he's been busy opening a new shop on the Stanford campus.
