Like mother, like son. California gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman's underwear skidmark of a son, Griffith Rutherford Harsh V, was arrested back in 2006 for assaulting a woman in Palo Alto, resulting in her broken ankle. Gawker has exclusive word that--after 22-year-old Valerie Sanchez insulted his fraternity, told him to "fuck off," and knocked the baseball cap off his head--Griff pushed the mouthy broad with two open hands on her chest and shoulder area. She fell down, her ankle snapped.
Whitman's son was charged with felony battery.
How did the, let's face it, future governor of California discipline her son? As Gawker goes on to report, "Meg Whitman...posted Griff's $25,000 bail with a cashier's check and brought her son home. Nine court dates followed over the next year, but the charges were ultimately dismissed, although it's unclear why that is." Although she claims otherwise, spending the time to raise a family was never a high priority for Whitman. (Both of her sons caused their fair share of trouble while enrolled at Princeton.)
We're not sure where spending $25,000 on the release of violent criminals falls under Whitman's touted plan of fiscal responsibility, but... there you have it.
