While several of the big name shows this week (see: The xx/Phantogram, Local Natives/Suckers, LCD Soundsystem/Holy Ghost, Isis/Tombs) have sadly sold out, there are still plenty of live music options to get you through the week including afro-pop outfit Fool's Gold at New Parish Tuesday, San Diego-based garage rock quartet The Soft Pack at Mezzanine Saturday and Brooklyn's noisy punk duo Japanther at Great American Music Hall Sunday.
Our featured act this week is Tempo No Tempo, who play Rickshaw Stop with Canadian indie rock trio Born Ruffians this Friday. Since 2004, the Bay Area-based act have been jamming out danceable post-punk anthems in the spirit of of defunct Dischord legends Q and Not U, earning a reputation as one of the area's best live acts along the way. It came as a bit of a surprise then when the band announced last month that they would be disbanding for good come June (FOR REALS). So whether you are a longtime fan or a recent convert, Friday marks your last chance to catch the all-around awesome trio -- be sure to make it out for what is sure to be a memorable night.
Several other shows to choose from this week including Swedish indie-folk duo First Aid Kit at Bottom of the Hill Wednesday, Stockton's rising favorites Craft Spells at Milk Thursday and local heavyweights The Dodos at The Independent Saturday -- as always, be sure to check the full showlist.
