ING Drops Bay to Breakers

ING Drops Bay to Breakers

One of Bay to Breakers major sponsors, ING, is bowing out of the city's annual pomp and pee marathon. The Chon's Matier and Ross report, "[a]fter five years of booze, bareback runners [ed. note: tee hee] and increasingly bad press, insurance giant ING is bowing out as sponsor of San Francisco's annual Bay to Breakers race."

M&R go on to speculate that ING has had it up to here with "all the bad publicity that the race has generated in recent years" -- i.e., partiers and joggers urinating, pooping and "generally behaving rudely."

ING spokesman Joseph Loparco, however, in a written statement, claims that the company reached its goals already, hoping B2B "many more years of success."
