Anything and everything but kissing on the lips, you say? We hear that. But, come next Monday, you might change your tune. SF Weekly's Joe Eskenazi brings word that the Castro will play host to a gay kiss-in on Monday, a rally where people totally french each other in public. (Tee hee.)
The kiss-in is part of a worldwide smoochfest to honor the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHO). As esteemed activist and writer Michael Petrelis noted earlier this month, "Held annually every May 17, because on that day in 1992, the World Health Organization removed gayness from the index of global diseases and related health problems, the 2010 version of IDAHO promises to be the best yet." What's more, the peaceful protest will give props to "many of whom cannot engage in public displays of affection because of local laws or threats of violence."
So, grab some Scope, a partner, and head over to Harvey Milk Plaza (at Market and Castro Streets) at 5 p.m. on May 17 for some important tongue action.
