FILM: The Appreciating Diversity Film Series presents HIP-HOP: Beyond Beats and Rhymes, in which filmmaker, activist, and hip-hop fan, Byron Hurt, explores manhood, sexism, and homophobia in rap music and hip-hop culture. The documentary features interviews with Mos Def, Chuck D, Busta Rhymes and Russell Simmons, along with on-the-street interviews with aspiring rappers and fans at hip-hop events throughout the country.
