We may not be quite as ass-kissy as Topeka, but a response by SF's Department of Technology to Google's request for information about their fiber-to-home network plans says, "We believe that Google could find no better municipal partner than San Francisco." And furthermore: "We also believe that by engaging in a deep public private partnership, the project could get to market sooner than if Google were to use the traditional right-of-way access."
