One of the city's prettiest views is from the rooftop deck balcony at the LGBT Center. Not only are the views from the patio spectacular, but it's also roomy since, alas, no one takes advantage of it. Which is why, according to the Bay Area Reporter, a local land use attorney will scrutinize "the building to allow more commercial uses, including the possibility of a rooftop restaurant space

LGBT Center overlords have met recently with -- hold onto your PBRs, trustfund kids -- Gus Murad, the owner of Medjool, "about forming a partnership at the urging of District 8 Supervisor Bevan Dufty. " (Say what you will about Medjool, it proved that people like drinking and eating at higher altitudes; something San Francisco has in abundance.) Dufty explained to the BAR that this would be "modeled after Delancey Street, the nonprofit provider of services to substance abusers that also operates a restaurant and several other businesses to generate revenue."

"While a deal isn't agreed to, what Gus has proposed is not only using an LGBT workforce through the center but revenue and profit-sharing for the center as well," said Dufty. "He had a unique idea about how to structure this."
