Asian home ownership in the Bay Area has risen over the last ten years. According to a Wall Street Journal report, the top ten surnames of home buyers in 2009 were Vietnamese, Chinese or Korean.
This is up from five of the top ten in 1999. This is in sync with Census information, which also showed an increase in home ownership among Latinos.
The percentage of African-American home ownership has fallen in the last decade. The report didn't include mixed-race houses.
