MUSIC: The Winter Music Festival, presented by SF Indiefest, begins tonight with a show at Bottom of the Hill. Moody, lounge-y, goth singer Rykarda Parasol performs. Daughter of a Swede and a Holocaust survivor, her songs are stories about cold, death and isolation, among other subjects. Also performing tonight are The Action Design, The Trohpy Fire, and Dave Smallen.
9 p.m. // Bottom of the Hill (1233 17th Street) // $10
ART: Get the weekend off to a kinky start with "For Fuck's Sake" presented by Sub-Mission Art Space and Virgie Tovar. Billed as an "erotic education art show," there will be more than 25 artists, performers and writers displaying sexy art. Additionally, "sexperts" will be roaming the floor to answer any, and they mean any, questions.
7 p.m. // Sub-Mission Art Space (2183 Mission) // $5
COMEDY: Sketchfest continues with "Theme Park Improv," starring Rachel Dratch along with Edie McClurg, Oscar Nunez, Daniel Pudi, Jessica Makinson, Janet Varney and Cole Stratton. The long-form improv show is based on audience suggestion, so nobody mention Avatar, Tiger Woods, or Jay Leno, because we're tired of hearing about those.
8 p.m. // The Eureka Theater (215 Jackson) // $25
