FILM: Luis Bunuel's Belle de Jour (1966) is a sumptuous, albeit totally pretentious, piece of French eye candy. Fresh off of Les Parapluies de Cherbourg (1964) -- AKA, the greatest movie in the universe -- Catherine Deneuve plays a bored housewife who moonlights as a hooker while wearing phenomenal Yves Saint Laurnet outfits and dreaming about getting whipped, soiled with mud, and bound to trees.
