This coming Sunday, a group of American football players called the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Arizona Cardinals will come together to have a sporting match entitled Superbowl XLIII. If you will allow SFist to jinx the odds this year, our money is on the team with the friendliest players who know that there is no "i" in "team."

But our eyes will be on the annual Puppy Bowl. The Puppy Bowl will have you shrieking with sheer delight like a little boy. What is it, you ask? Well, Puppy Bowl V, showing on the Discovery Channel concurrently with that other sporting match, is an annual canine competition featuring "a new cast of pups take[ing] the field for another year of dogged defense, puppy penalties and fido first downs." Basically, it's a gaggle of adorable puppies on a makeshift football field going after a chew toy. And this year, every puppy featured in is recruited from an animals shelter, so "these pooches are free agents looking for a good home."

And don't forget about Kitten Halftime.
