THEATER: SFist reviewed No Parole last year, giving it a glowing review. Seriously, we saw it twice. It's good. And we typically loathe one-man shows that involve neither a show tune nor manic choreography. (Shut up.) Anyway, Carlo D’Amore’s hyper and “semi-autobiographical” about growing up in New York City with his con-artist mother has returned. And word is it's gotten much better time time around. (Runs Thursday through Sunday, November 13, 2008 - Saturday, December 13.)

8 p.m. // The Marsh (1062 Valencia Street) // e $15-35, sliding scale

TEQUILA TASTING: Master distiller Artur Lomeli talks about and introduced the latest brand of Clase Azul Tequila. That is to say, free tequila will be had. (Bring your own lime and salt, Marina sluts.)

7 p.m. - 9 p.m. // Elixir (3200 - 16th Street) // free

ART: Modernism Gallery over on Market Street presents "Universes Unlimited: Jonathon Keats." What is it he's trying to tell us through his art, exactly? Well, the impenetrable press release described his latest effort like this: "Universes Unlimited is the foremost purveyor of equipment for macrocosmic fabrication. Our quantum decoherence engine is the only machine purpose-built for all-encompassing creation. On behalf of government and industry, we design state-of-the-art factories to mass-produce full-scale universes. For the home market, we supply D.I.Y. kits that spawn new worlds suitable for personal use. The possibilities are limitless. Genesis is our business." What does that mean? It means there will be free wine and nibbles served. And, really, isn't that why go to these bloated events in the first place?

5:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. // Modernism Gallery (685 Market) // free
