Seeing as how they have nothing else going on, this week the San Francisco Board of Supervisors will vote on a city proclamation honoring John Barleycorn Pub, calling for its preservation. The bar is set to close, and as already mentioned on Yelp, your local watering hole plays a large part in the aesthetics and feel of a neighborhood, so it's a good idea to pay attention to when these things start closing down around you. (Besides, you don't want this happening to your hood, do you?)
So, tonight at 7 p.m., bars throughout "downtown, [SOMA], Nob Hill and North Beach will pause and drink a toast to 'John Barleycorn and the Great Pubs of San Francisco.'"
