It's come to that point of the season -- make or break time. Backed up to the edge of seasons past, the Warriors find themselves heading off on a six-game East Coast road trip with a must-win mentality.

The right-coast swing, which includes two sets of back-to-backs and games against Indianapolis and playoff rival Minnesota, is the kind of mid-season road trip that has buried lesser Warriors teams of yesteryear. Like, say, lasteryear's team.

This year's squad hasn't fared particularly well on the road either, limping to a 4-15 record thus far. Warriors fans are a confident, if not resilient bunch though.

Don Nelson might not be too worried about how many games the team wins on this road trip, or this season, but the rest of the team should if they have any hopes of making the playoffs this year. The clock is ticking.

Heading into tonight's game with Cleveland, the Warriors are 21-23. They need to break even on this trip, at least, to keep their playoff hopes alive. That number eight playoff spot is going to require at least 45 wins, which is 8 games above .500. If the database boys can grab three wins during their travels -- an incredible feat in its own right -- they would need to go at least 21-11 in the remaining 32 games. No way of getting around it -- if they collapse on this trip, the season is lost.

The season is barely half over but the Warriors have already hit the point of no return. What will their current road trip bring? Traditional heartache or a shining vision of a future with championship banners of all sizes and shapes, and rings and trophies, car fires and dancing in the streets . . . it's a Cinderella team, out of nowhere . . . tears in our eyes . . .
