We finally got around to watching MTV's "I'm From Rolling Stone", the Almost Famous-meets-The Hills-meets-The Apprentice reality show about six twenty somethings who get "the internship of a lifetime": a summer associate position at Rolling Stone. One lucky hopeful will win a year-long contributing editor position.
Um, does anybody still read Rolling Stone?
Two of the cast members, Krishtine de Leon and Russell Morse, are from San Francisco. According to MTV.com, Krishtine is "all hip-hop, all the time." (Though sources tell us her writing is whack.) Krishtine wears a gold grill in the first episode, putting her on par with hip-hop heavyweights like Brooke Hogan.
Russell has the most promise as a writer, but feels the need to self-destruct. He continues to write for Youth Outlook in SF, so we're not sure if he won the job or not. But he does jump into a dumpster in the first episode.
Our favorite part of I'm From Rolling Stone? Watching Executive Editor Joe Levy's super-cute facial expressions. It's almost as funny as watching him on those VH1 clip shows.
