Times have changed -- now, we're far more likely to try to pass off the thoughts of Lisa Schwarzbaum as our own, but that doesn't mean our fondness for Navasky has decreased even a whit.

That's why we're so happy to see the publication of Navasky's book, . Pages upon pages of Navasky goodness with none of the inevitable impossible task guilt we end up suffering when we subscribe to any magazine that has more words than pictures.

Navasky's in town this week, with an appearance at Berkeley's Black Oak Books (1491 Shattuck Ave.) tonight at 7:30, and at 6:30 tomorrow night as part of the World Affairs Council event at San Francisco's Alcazar Theatre (650 Geary Street). Both events promise to be rockin' good times, and his publishers would like give them an extra pimp by offering SFist readers a chance to win a copy of A Matter of Opinion.

So, enter below by Thursday at noon for a chance to win a copy of the book E.L. Doctorow referred to as the "the kinkiest love story of our time". Good luck!
