4.7 Quake on Calaveras Fault

4.7 Quake on Calaveras Fault

Anybody else feel the seismic alarm clock go off this morning at 5:24? A 4.7 magnitude earthquake shook the Calaveras Fault, centered approximately six miles from San Martin, California. It was enough for us to feel about three seconds of booty-shakin' tectonic groovin' here in North Beach. We're hoping nothing more significant than that has happenned, and that everyone's safe. Geology nerds can check out the waveform graphs from the different seismic stations in the region, or check out ground acceleration and velocity maps.
