Of course, this being San Francisco, you can't have a group of people getting together in silly costumes without their being some sort of socio-political ramification to it all and, fret not, there is. In this case, it's to, well, "Reclaim the Streets." Oh, and protest proposed MUNI fare hikes. Says the Web site: "Reclaim the Streets is a decentralized direct action movement which uses street parties to take back public space - the street – from cars, corporations and the police state." Not to mention to take "a stand against the increasing commodification of public space and public transportation." Sometimes SFist wonders if there are people in this city who when going to the bathroom, claim that they're not going to the bathroom, but "reclaiming the toilet."

But we digress.
