So there you are, a Palo Alto mom driving down Charleston Road, with your precious baby carefully strapped into your state-of-the-art car seat. As you reach the Alma Street train tracks, you hear the toot toot, ding ding ding, of an oncoming train. Being a law-abiding citizen, you come to a complete stop at the gates, and patiently wait for the train to pass by.
Then suddenly, someone who wasn't paying quite so much attention rear-ends you! Your car goes crashing through the gate and gets stuck on the tracks -- as a Caltrain baby bullet comes screaming towards you at 80 miles per hour!! What do you do? ???
Well, the woman and her child just barely made it out and to the side of the tracks, just in time to watch the northbound Caltrain smash into her car. No one was injured, thank goodness, and full train service was restored about an hour later. No word on the status of the person who hit the car, but -- maaaaan, there is some bad driving karma coming your way for that one, no?
